About Sardinia and the Bosa area

Sardinia is the second largest island in the Mediterranean sea. It has a long and varied history, from it's prehistoric past of the Nuraghic civilisation through conquests by the Moors, Romans, Catalans and Genovese. The island has much to offer, from stunning beaches to high mountains and a truly wild interior.

The North West of the island has two amazing coastal towns. Alghero, where there is an international airport, is a large town with a beautiful citadel of pale yellow stone. It is full of great bars, restaurants and shops.

Just down the dramatic coastal road you can find the smaller, but equally stunning, Bosa. Dominated by the castle Malaspina its old town is a mass of tall thin brightly coloured houses accessed by narrow cobbled streets. The river Temo leads from the old town down to the marina where you find an award winning,  long sandy beach.
