Porto Alabe
Just a 5 minute drive along the sea front from Bosa Marina is the sea side resort of Porto Alabe. Being built on a hillside, sloping down towards the sea, it gives the houses here wonderful sea views. The main attraction here is the wide arc of fine sandy beach which narrows as it stretches along the coast and turns into a mixture of sand and rocks.
The town is slowly growing due to demand for holiday homes but the villas and houses are quite individual and this is not mass development by any means. Any property here is just a short walk from the beach, which can be reached by the many sets of steps leading down from the main road.
Porto Alabe has its own mini markets, one open all year and the other during the summer months only, a couple of bars that are open all year round and a couple which, again are only open for summer and 2 pizzerias and a restaurant, open during the season. However, with a car you are in easy distance of both Bosa and many inland places of interest.
There is also a cliff path, that starts near the main car park near the beach and leads to another small beach just a 15 min stroll away.

This large strip of fine sandy beach can be found at the far end of Porto Alabe. Whilst the main, wider part is sandy, as it runs down the coast it becomes a little narrower with smooth rocks running into the water and some rock pools to explore. The sea here can sometimes be wavy and depending on the weather over winter the drop from the beach into the sea can differ along the length of the beach, but it is not steeply shelving.
There is a large car park down the hill at the start of the beach and on street parking in the town. You can easily reach the beach from anywhere in the town as at regular intervals there are steps down. During the high season this beach has lifeguards and first aid facilities.
There is a bar and pizzeria – Lidolando – on the beach, open during the holiday season and a bar/pizzeria/restaurant – I Cedri – on the main road. This bar is open all year but the restaurant is only open June – Sept. Also a restaurant "La Concordia" serving local dishes.
If you are staying in Porta Alabe we strongly recommend a hire car as this will give you much more choice for eating out in season, and out of season it really is a must.
