Bosa Marina
The River Temo flows into the Mediterranean at Bosa Marina. A lively sea side resort in season when numerous bars, cafes and restaurants open up, it has a large, wide expanse of soft, fine sandy beach partially sheltered by the harbour walls, that lead to the imposing tower of Isola Rossa. This is open to the public in high season and sometimes houses art exhibitions.
There are plenty of activities to keep you entertained, not just from the beach such as windsurfing and kite surfing, but boat hire, scuba diving excursions, boat and fishing trips.
The small train station is here where you can take the Little Green Train inland to Macomer, winding through the beautiful countryside where vineyards and olive groves can be seen.

The church, on Via C Colombo, does not have bells, but plays a tune instead, that can be heard throughout the town.
Bosa Marina has grown in recent years to take advantage of its gently shelving, wonderful beach but even out of season it is a beautiful, quieter place with a few good pizzerias and bars remaining open all year round. The old town of Bosa itself is a pleasant 25-30 minutes walk away

Bosa Marina Beach
This is a very long, wide strip of wonderfully soft fine sand and is the best beach in the area. Mostly protected by the harbour wall this is very safe bathing and here the beach is gently shelving. There are rocks out to sea in the middle of the beach that a make good snorkelling area. There are lifeguards here during July and August.

The sand gets very hot due to the fact that it contains miniscule particles of metal, so make sure you wear your flip flops. We are told that being buried in this sand is very good for arthritis and rheumatics!
You can hire all water sports equipment here and learn how to surf, windsurf etc. You can hire sunbeds and umbrellas and this allows you to use the toilets and changing rooms, some with showers, of the hirer. There are a variety of bars, restaurants and beach shops at the back of the beach so there is no need to leave.
